  • how would you make Moon Light?

    Hi All,
I have a scene at night. It consists of clouds, a full moon and a plane that passes right over the moon.(don’t ask)
Of course, the moon & plane are CG. Since I can’t find reference footage of a plane crossing a full moon, I will have to use my imagination. (this can be scary)
What i’m looking for is a glow from the moon that interacts with the plane. I really don’t want to do this in MAYA. So I was thinking trapcode shine?
If so, how would the plane interact (block) the rays of the moon?

    Any suggestion would be great,
    Thanks,
    Lou

This is an old post, but I thought I’d give you a heads-up.
I was standing on the deck of a Condo on the Lake of the Ozarks when I looked up at the moon which was full. Off to the right I could see the lights of a jetliner on a trajectory to pass in front of the moon. When it did, it lasted an instant and it was the perfect black silhouette of the plane against the moon. No time for a lightwrap, just black on white for the snap of a finger. An unforgettable visual.
