  • How would you do this lighting effect?

So, I created this in photoshop. Now, when I actually do this in AE, the wood floor will be a large separate layer which will move from right to left, simulating movement.

Now, I’d like to do the over head lighting effect on the background in AE so that I can animate it over time and eventually make it disappear.

Any ideas on how to do this?

Make an orange solid, make it a 3D layer, add a light, set it to “spot”, aim it at the solid and animate the spot’s intensity …?

or use the CC Spotlight effect… or create a black solid, add an oval mask, invert the mask & feather the crap out of it then adjust the mask shape and layer transparency until it suits your needs.

.. or create a solid, add the ramp effect, then set its mode to multiply. Apply curves to the ramp solid and adjust.

    😉
