Hello. This will be my first post on this website, but I’ve seen many people get help here before, so hopefully I will have the same luck.

Anyway, I’ve used after effects in the past, but I wouldn’t exactly say I’m experienced with it, so I was wondering how hard it would be to create an effect similar to the map effect that’s present in the Video Game Ace Combat 5’s opening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HryU0syRZH4

It doesn’t have to be exactly the same, I just want to be able to show a good visual representation of territory expansion. I already have a map that I drew up in Photoshop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If you want it to grow more organically too, you can download ink bleed stock footage and use that as a track matte for you expanding territory.
