how to work in 2 comps
Posted by Tony Curtail on December 16, 2007 at 5:50 pmI need to work in the precomp and view the results in the final comp.
I only know to lock the two windows. The rest is a mystery. Thanks.Kevin Camp replied 18 years, 9 months ago 3 Members · 3 Replies -

December 17, 2007 at 1:21 amIn the Composition window there should be two tabs, one for Comp 1 and another for Comp 2. Pull one of them off to the side, then you can see two comps at once.
Then if you work in the timeline and the Composition window of Comp 1, you’ll see the results in the Comp 2 Window.
I’m assuming Comp 1 is precomped in Comp 2.

December 17, 2007 at 3:43 pmThanks, Mike. I was hoping that along with this fancy new interface there would be a way to put a precomp window next to the main comp window.
It looks like working duel windows is awkward like just about everything else in this klunker. -

December 17, 2007 at 3:52 pmyou can also lock the preview window for the main comp (hit the little lock icon while the main comp is active). then switch to the nested comp timeline to make adjustments.
as you work in the nested comp, the main comp preview will now be what you are looking at as you modify that comp…
