  • How to use Audition to remove Audio Frequency Interference

    Hello all,
I recorded a wedding and the DJ arrived late to setup his equipment right before the ceremony and had his microphones on the same frequency as I had mine wireless lapel mic. I was trying and hoping I could remove the static and frequency pops in Audition. I tried using the Noise Reduction, Sound Remover, and Hiss Reduction Process, but no luck. I’m pretty new to Audition and would like to know what I need to do to be able to correct this problem.
Thank you for your valued Input.

I’d say that because the pops and static are of short duration, your going to have to go in to the Spectral Frequency display and work by hand. It’s not difficult once you get the hang of it and can actually see where the problems are. Here’s a tutorial from Adobe (the first video) that will get you on the right track:

Thanks Joe, I took a look at the link and found some very helpful info.. I had to go through the entire ceremony by hand as you stated and remove each frequency distortion. It took awhile but I was able to clean it up. Thanks again, and sorry for the late responds I was away on vacation. Once again Thanks

I’m glad that worked out Mark. It’s a tedious process, but often hand work is the only way to do it.
