  • How to uninstall Snow Leopard & install Leopard?

Posted by L. Stewart on October 28, 2009 at 3:05 pm

I have a new Mac Pro with Snow Leopard installed and due to software compatibility issues I need to change to Leopard (10.5.6). Can anyone give some guidance as to how to proceed with this? Do I need to reformat the drive and then install Leopard? Any assistance would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Leola

You have to completely erase the drive and start over with 10.5.

Just did the same thing today. I tried to roll back my MacPro which came with 10.6. My Leopard disk was 10.5 which wouldn\’t load on the hardware of the new Mac Pro. So I took an internal drive to an older G5 and loaded the 10.5 disk and then updated to 10.8. Put the drive back in the Mac Pro and booted into 10.8.
