how to undo soundtrack pro
Ok, maybe “undo” is the wrong word. but I exported (or sent) a small timeline to soundtrack pro. I’ve played with it and absolutely hate STP. I’m an editor and I don’t understand how to work in STP. I don’t feel like learning it. I want to undo the send. But I can’t seem to figure out how.
I want the original source files in the audio timeline, not the ones that have come back from STP. (they all say “filename (sent)”.
Why won’t the just add the functionality of STP into FCP and be done with it?

Before sending did you duplicate your sequence as a backup? If not, then you might have to search for the last autosave to get back your original sound track elements.

No. I didn’t duplicate the sequence. I don’t like this workflow a bit. It’s totally cumbersome. Besides, what if i had to make changes and had to do a conform in STP. I don’t think that’s the recommended workflow.
worse case scenarios, I’ll match frame each clip and bring it back into the timeline. It’s only about 20-30 clips.

Having a backup is always recommended, as you have discovered, even if it isn’t in the manual. Did you look for your autosave? Just copy paste the audio from that over the STP sent.

Don’t take this the wrong way. I HAVE a work-around. I’ve actually already done it because it took 1 minute. But I’m looking for the right way to do it. someone must know. Going back to autosave only works if you haven’t done any other work you want to save. This is a large project. that’s only one sequence I wanted to undo.
I hate STP.

If you send your sequence over to STP as a Multitrack Project, edit, and then export back to FCP …
* The original sequence will still be available in your FCP Project bin
* A new sequence is created that includes the edited audio as well as the original tracks muted in the timeline.
