how to un-partitioning drive
Can someone please help. A year ago I partitioned my drive in anticipation of installing the yet to be released Lion on one partition and keeping snow leopard on the other. I had never gotten around to installing Lion – but am about to know and no longer want the partitions. I want to revert back to just the single one partition that is currently running snow leopard. I then will install Lion on top of SL.
Easy step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated!!

PS – I’d reverse everything I did when I partitioned but can’t remember how that went down.

I believe you can’t just format it easily. I’d either
1. upgrade my hard driver to a bigger / better one and then install lion on it, then restore from time machine backup.
2. or clone the drive using super duper, fresh install SL and then upgrade it to Lion online.
Just make sure you have some sort of backup of the original drive so you don’t lose your stuff.

Make sure you have a backup.
Run disk utility.
Verify disk – make sure it passes.
Go to the partition tab.
Delete the lion partition (you did back up your drive, just in case, right?)
Drag the existing partition all the way out.
Hit apply.That should work.
OSX will let you wipe out the 2nd partition on the drive.If this blows up, John’s method is 100% safer. And you had that backup, right?
(I think it’ll work – I’ve done it before, but any time we screw around with partitions, we’re in dangerous territory.)
