  • HOW to : Transfer TEXTURE from High-Poly to Low-Poly Meshes in Cinema 4D.

Hello again, sorry for asking so much, and always very grateful, today the question is, I have the same 3D object in two MESH qualities, one with many polygons and the other in very LOW polygons, so I want to transfer the texture from the HIGH_POLY to the LOW_POLY mesh… I can do it in ZBRUSH, but it does a terrible job, it’s useless, so I wanted to know if it can be done within CINEMA4D? … I always appreciate your invaluable help. Thanks.

    Hi Mauricio!

I don’t think it can be done with a single click because changing the number of polygones drastically will affect the topology and hence the texture application inevitably, I tried to explain the idea using the Polygon Reduction tool, I hope this helps you.

Yes, thank you, it works quite well, I’m going to use it, but I think this is not exactly what I’m looking for. I think I’ll keep using Zbrush at least for this, since there it literally extracts the texture and applies it to lowpoly without damaging almost anything on the texture. [[ almost perfect]] Unfortunately, it’s quite a process to do it, but it does work. I would have liked CINEMA4D to have this option… so I’ll leave it here, sad face.. 😕
