    Hi,

Let’s say I’m handed two new FCP Studio boxes – one is Academic and the other is a full retail version. From what I’ve seen they are identical.

How can I tell them apart? Does the Academic version have its own Apple Item number?

Thanks very much for your help.

    David

It will say Academic on the part number sticker on the box. If it doesn’t don’t worry about it, just install the software. If after installation it comes up with Academic in large letters on the splash screen you installed the academic version. Not a problem. Find the FCP System ID in Library/Application Support/ProApps and trash it. Launch the app again and enter the correct serial number for the retail copy.

    All the best,

    Tom

Ask it where it received it’s doctorate? 🙂
