hi. when I move clips on the time line, is there a way to prevent them from automatically cross fading when I put them near each other? seems like i have to be very precise or else they’ll cross fade with each other by half a second or something and then i have to remove them and adjust them again by manually removing the fading.

secondly, my preview seems to have some random jagged lines through it and some on and off again distortion especially when handheld footage moves. this didnt happen with my old laptop. there is no lag with this new laptop though. what can cause this and how can i turn it off?

and how do I make sure that vegas is using the GPU and not the CPU to render?

Sounds like you have Automatically overlap multiple selected media when added. Go Options > Preferences > Editing Tab

Do you know if your GPU is capable to be used for Rendering?
