How to stick texture on an alembic animation? or create UV map on it?

This gif shows my struggle.
I made a simple cube animation in Oculus Quill, imported in Cinema 4D, and would like to stick a texture on it. But I cannot find a way to create UV map for this cube, thus I cannot use the UVW mapping(it gives me nothing, no checkerboard at all)
I tried stick texture, it’s not working. I set to spherical just to exaggerate the “slippery” texture. (Using the cubic projection looks fine despite the texture is not sticking on it.)
Cinema 4D’s native cube would have the UV build-in, but Quill’s cube doesn’t. But how do I slap a UV on it?
