  • How to stabilize wobble on a jib shot?

Posted by Lisa Tanner on November 13, 2015 at 8:16 pm

I’m compositing a street sign into a jib shot so that the jib rises up the signpost and reveals the sign. The Foundry’s Camera Tracker did a great job tracking the shot, but since the sign is so close to the camera, it reveals a (previously insignificant) wobble in the upper part of the jib movement. The director wants me to remove this wobble, so the sign looks steady, but I cannot get any of my tracking programs (AE, FCP 7, Mocha, Motion) to deliver a cleanly stabilized shot without jitter – which looks bad and drives Camera Tracker crazy.

Any tips? I’m currently running AE CS5.
