  • How to split long VEG into smaller segments?

Posted by Steve King on May 21, 2014 at 10:32 pm

First time I’m working on long program -2 1/2 hours- of segments that I will render to individual MP4s. I’m getting crashes. Can’t seem to get beyond the 2 1/2 hour point. Not complex. No effects. Speaker and slide image visuals. Computer is an i5 with 8 gb of memory. Using on 2.4 gb. So, I’m rendering out segments completed. Can I spit a long VEG into multiple smaller VEG’s? First time problem with crashes. Grrr. Open for suggestions. Thanks.

Forgot to mention I’m using VP12. I guess what I really mean is I want to split a long project into several smaller projects. Can be done?

I would just open another instance of Vegas while you have your initial project open, copy and paste any part you want into the new project, and continue like that.

Or just “Save as” and save a new Vegas project and delete whatever you don’t want (so you can keep the same track info, which won’t get pasted onto a new Vegas project), and repeat.

“Save As”. That will work. Simple. Thanks.
