How To Speed Up Rendering
What’s the best way to speed rendering in After Effects/Media Encoder? It usually takes around 4-6 hours to render a basic 1080p 60fps 10 minute video.. I don’t really use many effects, mainly just text and basic color corrections such as contrast and brightness however it still takes a while to render.
My render settings are usually the same all the time…
10-14 target bitrate and max bitrate
h.264
1080p 60fps
AAC audio 320 kpsMy PC specs are
Intel 4770k
GTX 1070
32gb ramrendering to a hdd

I haven’t been in the video making business for a long time, so consider this a noob advice, but it can potentially help.
I had quite the same problem (in a larger scale: 50+ rendering hrs for 1h video) and letting the computer sleep while rendering has solved it. Some guy on the internet went further and bought actual fans to cool down his computer, because the bottom line here is heat!
The longer it takes to render a video, the hotter the computer, the longer it will take, (not sure about the grammar in this sentence) that’s basically what I’ve learned from this kind of problem.
Also I have seen many people on the internet praising the use of SSDs over HDDs for rendering, maybe that is also why it’s slow.

it actually only takes 2 hours, but your asking your computer to render it twice. try constant bitrate next time.

Please post a screen shot of encode settings, this is often very telling

Does your final render come from a 100% After Effects composition?
Are you placing video that has no CG on top at all?
Or is the video CC in AE?
One thing I stress on when teaching basic AE at local college is that if its more than 2 minute of video with no CG applied, then dont use AE to finish.
I am sure thats common info but I do run into a few that tend to work this way.
Worse is when they shoot with DSLRs.
