    IT WOULD BE GREAT if you can breakdown different procedures.You know how the result of film is a little softer than video.
    some say you have to decrease the contour correction .some in built feature of video cameras to sharpen the image.hd video is quite hard in a way.

    On the 7D, try dialing down your “sharpness” setting all the way to the left, same with your “contrast”. Then dial down your “saturation” by 2 clicks from center. This will give you a nice color gradable image and will reduce that “sharp look” you are referring to.

    Not unless you need it for a specific look… and NEVER do this in camera…. Unless you are absolutely SURE you want it that way… save it for post if you really want that specific look.
