  • how to skip VST audio plugins in FCP

Hi folks. My FCP 6 insists to search all the audio VST plugins I have in the library/audio/plugins/vst folder when it starts. I use these plugins for ableton live only and I don’t need FCP losing time to search for them at every start up. How do I do to make FCP “skip” them? Thanks!

Take them out of the folder they’re in? No way otherwise don’t think.

I think Jerry is right … at least, I don’t know of any existing VST plugin management utilities for Mac (AU yes, but VST, no) … but if you or a colleague is comfortable with a little basic applescripting then it would be relatively easy to write a launch script fro FCP that moves those plugs out of the plugins folder automatically.

    Hi Andy,

You mentioned there is a way to make FCP doesn’t read AU plugins.
Would you be able to point out the steps?
I have the same situation but regarding AU plugins: using them in a DAW but not need it for FCP.

    Thanks,
    Arya
