  • How to show what parts of a video have been pre-rendered

Hello! I am currently editing a video, and I am wondering if there is a way to show what parts of a video have been pre-rendered. I just learned that if you pre-render part of a vid and then do a 5 second pre-render in a different area, about 5 seconds of prerendered footage from the original prerender is removed. Is there aw way to show a green bar above the parts of a video that have been pre-rendered?

Quick answer? – No. Longer answer? No. Pre-renders are volatile, and as you’ve found the bar from one Pre-render disappears when another is done. Actually, any earlier Events will do this. It’s a nice Feature you’re asking for, but as it’s the way and philosophy that VP works, it’s not going to happen any time soon. So, this is what I do:

1] Pre-render or Build RAM Preview to get an idea of how it looks.

2] Maybe then Render to New Track if I like what I see.

3] I now use almost exclusively Wayne’s Render As New Take which can add a nomenclature to that Take I can recognise. But again now Blue or Green sustained Bars.

So no, rather think Pre-renders as volatile and only a quick Suck ‘n See for a piece. And, if you think about it, that’s about as good as I want it to be. I do want it to go away. Am I making sense?
