    Hi!

I am new to After Effects but familiar with Photoshop and Final Cut. Coming from that background there are a few aspects of AE CS4 that irritate me. The most irritating of those has to do with the clipping of highlights and shadows. When I work in Photoshop or Adobe Camera Raw one of my first steps in color correcting an image is usually to adjust the white and black levels. While doing that I take care not to clip any information, either by holding down the alt-key or by turning on the clipping warnings. In FCP the histogram shows me in bright red when I start to clip any information and the video scopes make this very visible as well.

I can’t believe that there is no way to show clipping in AE, yet I couldn’t find anything either in the program or the manual. What did I miss?

    Thanks,
    Dan
