How to share an HD .mov file?
Hello all,
Let me start by saying thank you for all of the help I’ve been given at this forum. This place is amazing!
My next challenge:
I used the H.264 compression to make a really great looking version of my 1080i HD 29.97 movie. Then I played around with some settings to get an o.k. looking DVD. I think it looks awful, but some other folks don’t think it looks THAT bad.
Anyway, it doesn’t matter much because this movie (how-to video) will be watched via YouTube and Vimeo.
But here’s the thing – the head of our Division, who is based in another city in Alaska, wants to watch the video to give it the approval to be placed on the web. I could send a DVD, but it looks crummy, and that isn’t how people would watch the video anyway.
The .mov file is 1.3GB. It plays just fine on my Mac, but when I tried playing it on my PC laptop, it was all choppy and didn’t play well. I’m unsure if this is a Mac/PC thing, or if it’s because I don’t have the most current version of Quicktime on my PC. Regardless, we are shackled with a web filtering service at work that prevents me from downloading a more current version of Quicktime on my PC (if that is indeed the problem). This will also be true for the head of the Division.
So how can I get him to watch the best version of this movie so that I can get the o.k. to put it on YouTube and Vimeo?
I thought about sending a jumpdrive with the .mov file on it, but would he be able to watch that on a PC?
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Erik
