How to setup my macBook Pro(FCP) to an HD Monitor?
I am trying to use my Panasonic HD monitor with my MacBook Pro. I have to go out of mac through firewire to HD camera then to monitor in.I don’t see no video? Is there a setting in FCP so i can see my video in the monitor?

Go to View – External Video – All Frames.
You also need to check the Video Playback setting under view.
What camera do you have?

Hi Russ, That work to show the video going to my LCD tv(HDMI Output on MacBook) but i would like to use my firewire out to my camera Sony HDR-FX1 then to my HD video monitor. So i can have the right colour settings. Is this possible in FCP?

With HDV, I don’t know. I don’t use that format. If it is possible, the you’ll need to change the video playback under the view menu to firewire hdv out in whatever framerate/frame size you’re using.

If you have FCP 6 you can play HDV back out firewire to view, but it will not look to pretty. To have it look good going out you must go through the long conforming before laying it back to tape.
I would look into the Matrox MXO for what it sounds like you are trying to accomplish.
