  • How to set correct proj properties for this?

Posted by Gilles Gagnon on January 27, 2013 at 8:57 pm

I’m making a slideshow with images taken from a digital camera.
    The images are 2048×1536.
I’ve set my proj properties to match this media using the utility in “project properties”

Is this the correct way of doing this?
am I then left to have black vertical bands on either side of the images when I render the video?

I’m rendering using MC mp4. Which template should I use for something like this?

    Cheers,
    G

    Hey Steve,
Thanks for this post. I think this is just what I’m looking for. I missed it in my search.
    I’ll give it a try.
    Thanks!

I usually set it to what my main delivery format will be. When I put together a slide show/ video presentation for the Boy Scout Troop, I render to 720p as my projector connected to my laptop does not support 1080p. If I am doing something for my big screen TV at home, then I render to a 1080p.

If I am dealing with a few hundred photos, many times I will leave them in the original jpg format I got them in. I use the montage tool in Production Assistant 2 to create the slide show.

    Thanks Mark,
I was working on it last night. I ended up using a 4:3 project size. It matched my photos the closest in terms of size.

It’s a personal project and therefore was willing to concede somewhat.

What’s strange, and if someone could explain, is that although I “matched output aspect ratio” on my pics, and although it all looked fine in the preview window, after the render (4:3) main concept mp4, I now have a very thin top and bottom thin black line in the quicktime viewer output.

I have seen that before and the way I took care of it was to make sure the project properties matched the render as template.
