    Hi,

I’m trying to mimic this look:

So far I have created some text and created a solid white layer – made both 3D and added an ambient light. I plan on adding a point light too so I can blow out the text a bit up close. I suspect there is also some kind of reflective setting applied to the text but on a low setting, giving it a matte semi reflective type look – very subtle though.

When I’m playing at the moment, the text actually looks really pixulated. I’ve checked fast preview and tried all the settings and indeed as I understand from my tutorials, text and shape layers in AE are continually rasterised, so I cannot understand why I am not seeing a sharp image of the text. Draft 3D is not on by the way.

Also, i’ve applied a 15mm camera lens and cranked up the aperture which is working fairly nicely.

    Any help appreciated!

Are you working at 100% size and Full Resolution. When working at smaller sizes, AE has to use less pixels and it can cause aliasing.

    That’s good to know!

Yep, full size and resolution. Rendered out fine, it’s just the preview.

    Thanks.

I tried cycling the colour to 16 and 32 but that didn’t make any difference.

I’m not sure what you mean about bad font. I thought all fonts in AE were rasterised to be sharp at any size?

Where is the collapse position switch and aspect ration correction button?
