  • How to scroll in preview window

Posted by Bruce Sharpe on February 26, 2010 at 5:31 am

When I need to do some detail work in the preview window, I turn off “Scale Video to Fit Preview Window”. This shows the preview at full resolution and so it has to crop it. I want to be able to scroll the visible region so I can see areas that are cropped. But there are no scroll bars or any other way I can find to do this.

    Can someone clue me in?

Are you wanting to zoom in at FRAME level? OR, what type of detailed work are you wanting to carry out, that requires you to zoom in? Colour Correction?

    Good question.

I think the only way to do anything close to that is just undock the windows and drag it up larger. I usually have my window undocked just for that reason.
Once you undock it you can also hit F11 to get rid of a lot of other stuff on your desk that gets in the way. F11 again puts it all back.

I need to zoom in because I am using the pan/crop tools to converge two cameras acquiring a 3D stereo image. Sometimes the feature I want to use for the convergence is in the cropped region.

Yes, undocking and resizing the preview window is what I’ve been doing too. That’s often good enough, especially when I’ve got a second monitor, but I don’t always.

Thanks for the F11 tip, I hadn’t tried that before.
