  • How to scale poly selections on their own axis at once

Posted by Brian Murphy on September 22, 2009 at 5:00 pm

    Hey all,

I have a sweep object that I turned into a mesh – I need to vary the shape here and there but don’t want to make individual selections and scale them one at a time. Instead I have many selections that need to be scaled all at once but I can not get them to scale on their own axis based on the individual selections…is this even possible? I’ve tried changing the Axis and Orientation with no luck.

    Help?

    Thanks,
    Brian

Structure>Normal Scale should do it (also available from the R-click menu).

Awesome – I didn’t think Cinema would leave this one out! Thanks Adam! Any idea on how to constrain to a particular axis with this feature? It seems to scale every axis uniformly.

    Thank you again!

Sadly there is no way to constrain it to an axis. I’ve requested it from Maxon in the past, but still waiting….

Oh wow, that’s a bummer. Well this may at least get me started in the right direction. Cheers.
