    I’m annoyed and need help.

In FCP, if i add a motion keyframe and then extend my end point the keyframe does not move with it.

Is there a way to make it automaticaly move with my end point?

In Avid this happens automatically. It’s driving me nuts!

    > I’m annoyed and need help. < Yar, me, too, and I just got here. No, FCP does not behave like Avid. the kyeframes you set are nailed to the time, not to the relative position in the clip. You can, however, try copying the clip, deleting the keyframes, and then using Paste Attributeswith the little box that says "scale attribute times" checked. It's silly, I know. And it probably won't work the way you expect it to. Patience, some of the FCP-Avid users may drop in to help out. bogiesan This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

Yeah, I beat my head against the wall with this one too. But honestly, its a ‘six of one, half-dozen of the other’ situation. Often in avid I wish the keyframes would stay in place when I trim. I think the ‘advanced keyframes’ functionality in Avid offers an option for this but I’m not at an Avid now, so I can’t be sure.

Slightly unrelated, but that’s one of the things I like about Lyric’s PanZoomPro plugin – trim the clip length and the duration changes with it.

There are a whole heck of a lot of things that I stub my toes on going back and forth between avid and fcp (something I do a lot), but I find that its easier just to go with the flow and not get upset about features found in one that aren’t in the other.

I found that eventually I just got to know them both really well and can deal with each on their own terms.

    Good luck!

i guess i will try the copy and paste to time feature.

changing the keyframes might just be somehtign i have to get used to but what else annoys me is that FCP makes there modifier triangles for attributes tooooo small! sometimes its hard to click on that little arrow to change scale.

wish they would make them bigger.

Way to small for my old eyes. 😉 If you find a way to move them other then one at a time, post back. Scaleing in time is greatly missed. But I’m used to Smoke animation interface, and it’s a lot more like AE in this respect.
