how to rip from dvds to AE?
Posted by Brandon on May 9, 2006 at 8:02 pmHey, I have a dvd with some of my features on it, and I was wondering what is the best way to rip them from the dvd to a quicktime file so that I can import them into AE? Thanks.

May 9, 2006 at 8:10 pmIf you are on a mac, I have had good luck with DVDxDV. https://www.dvdxdv.com/ Be aware, that it will not work on copy protected DVDs.

May 9, 2006 at 8:31 pmCopy the .vob you want to use to your HDD and rename it to .mpg. Now you can import it into AE. If the video contains ac3 audio install an ac3-filter on your pc.

May 9, 2006 at 8:47 pmThat didn’t work for me, on mac. I can play it in quicktime but AE gives – error: movie has no duration.

May 10, 2006 at 4:57 amWell, I changed it to .mpg and I can play it on my PC, but when I try and import it into AE, it says that AE can’t continue and it has crashed. So, I don’t know what to do.
