I am looking for a way to reveal an image tile by tile (ex: divide an image to 60 pieces and reveal random part every second). Couldn’t find a tutorial on how to do this. Can some one please help? TIA.

Following web page has web version of what I am looking for (no need of buzzer animation etc. just the image revealing part)

I can see Card Wipe getting you started but I don’t see an option for the other side of the image.

I think the Block Dissolve effect will do this… you’ll need to do a little math to get the blocks the correct size and uncheck the ‘soft edges’ option.

It always seems to use the same ‘random’ pattern though…

    Good one Kevin.

Just tried and yea if you don’t mind the random transition it works fine.

The math is easy if your preComp is 1:1 aspect ratio.

Fractal Noise with Brightness all the way down. Pop Mosaic over the top and set your grid with sharp colours switched on. Add Threshold. Play around with the Contrast and Brightness and set your key frames.
