  • how to replace footage in layer, but keep motion settings?

Posted by Keith Mann on July 12, 2005 at 4:06 pm

I have layers with stills and video that are animated with the same motion settings and filters.

Is there a simple way to select a layer and replace the still or footage with new stills or footage but not change any of the motion or filter settings? In other words use a layer as a template?

    Thnaks in advance

click on the layer you want to replace in the timeline, then hold down the Option key (on a mac) and drag the new file over it…that should replace the layer with the new file you want in its place while keeping all the settings, keyframes, filters, etc…
