How to replace conformed media with full lenght originals
Hello
I started a project way back when and I was given a FCP project with media managed media. Now I got final cut of the project but this one is with full media.
Is there any way to replace the media on the version that I was working on to the full media and then add a another cut to retain my work?It is documentary project where I use many versions on single clip because of cuts so colortarce will not work because it will copy only one version…

So you got consolidated movie files with timecode and reel ID intact ?
And now you got full clips ?
Then it should be easy.
If you one the other hand got total different media you should call the post producer and unleash hell 😉
Color Trace would be my next attempt , if that fails use the Create Thumbnail from Middle Frame and do it manually from a freshly created Gallery page.A slice of color…

Hi
It seems version A (well there are no reel ID’s but I should be able to do it by folders at minimum) but I don’t know if the media is same names. Anyhow I will start to play with this tonight and will post my findings for anyone else that might find it helpful.
I think that colortrace could copy over all remote versions, that would be “muy” helpful.
