  • How to render a special view?

    Hi everybody,

is it possible to render a special view, lets say the “top”-view which can be set in the monitor window? AFX uses always the “active camera”-view or a camera-layer if I want to render my animation.

Thank you very much in advance!

Not possible. You’ll have to try and match the “special view” using the Active Camera view.

You have to create a camera and set it up so its view looks like the view you want. AE will not render orthographic or custom views.

For the orthographic views like “top”, “left” and “front”, make a camera whose distance and focal length are very high (like being far with a tele lens) and match (to make the size match, sort of).

For example, you could try a focal length of 1000 with a distance of 1000. Then you move the camera into position and aim it appropriately. You might need to shut off the camera’s auto-orient.
