  • How to reduce audio in FCP linearly?

Posted by Rishi Kumar on August 31, 2009 at 12:34 am

    Hey everyone

I’m sure I’m doing something wrong, because anytime I try to fade out the audio of certain clips, the actual fading out doesn’t fade smoothly. If I use key frames, the audio drops exponentially, and the same thing is if I use the cross fade audio transition…

Is there a way I can fade music out smoothly and linearly?

    Thanks

If it’s at the end of the audio you’re using, try the audio transition filter the crossfades to zero. Then if you want the fade longer, double click the transition and change the length. I use it all the time. If it’s at the end of the audio, it’ll just fade it out.
