  • How to recreate BBC News animated arcs/rings?

    Hi,
I’m aiming to recreate the effects seen on this BBC News title sequence for a personal project. Shown are animated white arcs and expanding/contracting rings overlaid onto black and white imagery.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=reVCz93iFjsI’ve gotten as far into the process as getting some horizontal bars and applying CC Sphere onto them, but I’ve no idea how to progress it beyond that. Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks ????

Hi Rob. There are several ways of doing this but, going with what you’ve got: You can animate the lines in the comp that has Sphere applied to it, you can also keyframe the angle etc. of the sphere. The text and lines are fairly basic AE layers and Keyframing. You can use the Tint effect on your video to turn it greyscale. Look up how to use Track Mattes which allow you to get the broken up segments of the video.
