  • How to record voice over in mono?

I want to record voice over in premiere in mono. Im recording with a mono mic but Its gets recorded as a stereo track with only voice in one channel? Where do you change this? Seams like even if i set a mono track, the voice over will record in stereo plus one empty channel. Where should i do the changes? Is it in premieres channelmixer or perhaps i have looked in the wrong end.

    Hi Joel,

make a new audio track in your timeline, set it to mono.
Add the record-symbol to your audiotrack-icons, activate record on that mono track.

    Best,
    Jo

Unless you go back and reset your timeline to have mono tracks, it might be simpler to simply make the mono track play as stereo.

In the Project/Bin panel, select your mono clip. Choose Clip > Modify > Audio Channels. In the Modify Clip dialog box, select Mono As Stereo, and then click OK. Note: You can apply the Modify Clip command to a mono clip only in the Project panel, before the clip appears in a Timeline panel. If you have already placed it in the timeline, you’ll need to place it again.
