You hit the “bullseye” button in the audio track header to arm for recording. After setting the input you hit the record button (red circle)in the transport controls and it will record within a loop region or from the current cursor position.

We followed what you said, but, when we do record, we don’t see any waves, is there a setting in the computer that we have overlooked?

Go into Prefs>Audio Device and make sure you have the input set properly.

If you’re recording throuhg the line imput of your sound card, then you have to go into the Windows sound section and set to record and mute all but the line-in.

Double click the speaker icon in the system tray, select options-properties then check the record box. Then you can adjust your recording preferences.

After that follow Gary’s instructions. Add an audio track and arm it.

This is what I had to do to make my vo’s. You’re not seeing the waves because you may not be actually recording.
