    Hello everyone!

I’m on trainee in a quite big company, which is using SAN (mostly on IBM’s devices) technology. I’m new in it, so if I’m wrong, please forgive me. As you know, it is always not enough space for company’s needs. Many of these volumes were taken long ago and probably many aren’t necessary anymore, but the problem is hot to check it. My job is to try find solution, how to deal with unused, old volumens. Of course, the easiest way is to check in e-mails, who owns it and contact them, but it is waste of time (many people aren’t our employee anymore and so on). So, the question is, do you have any ideas? How do you deal with this in your own companies? I would be gratefull for your opinions and ideas! Thank you in advance!

this is WAY beyond my knowledge – that’s for sure.
IBM is not typically what you see in a video environment. Not even for a huge company like a TV network.
Certainly AVID, Facilis, and even Quantum, Isilon, EMC, but NEVER IBM.
