how to preview in real time?
i have searched the forums and could not find the answer. i am new to AE and i was wondering how i can watch my text animations in real time. (basic text on a straight path) the comp is set to the footage requirements but when i hit the space bar it hardly ever plays back at 24 fps. it just dwindles down to 10 fps and below.
im working on a MacPro OSx, lacie external drive and AE cs3

Mostly true, and remember to take advantage of proxies to speed things along in your renders.
