  • How to prevent rendering when compressing

I am sending many unrendered video files from FCP7 to the compressor. They are not rendered because I do not have the time to spend on that process. However, FCP7 is rendering on its own during this time, which slows the compressing process. Is there any way I can set FCP7 to not render without being prompted to do so, or is there an option on the compressor to do this? Thanks in advance!

Maybe you should upgrade to FCPX or Premiere Pro CC.

Personally I’d recommend exporting a ProRes Master file and using that in Compressor.
Send to Compressor had a history of issues in legacy FCP.
