How To Prevent Obsoleting Dynamics Effect
Premiere Pro is trying to obsolete the incredibly useful Dynamics audio effect. For those of you who use and love it, you can help prevent this from occurring. How?
Adobe Staff employee, Stefan Gruenwedel, said, “Adobe product teams do monitor requests made through that feature request/bug report form. The more people post there, the better.”
Please fill out the Premiere Pro feature request form asking them not to obsolete the Dynamics effect.

*** Reasons Why The Dynamics Effect Is Important ***
If the Dynamics audio effect becomes obsolete, whenever I change a project, I would have to replace the Dynamics effect for all the clips with something else. This is very inconvenient and costly.
I work on tight deadlines. Without the Dynamics effect, I would not be able to meet those deadlines. The Dynamics effect is like a Swiss army knife. It has everything I need to get the job done in a single, easy to use interface.
Since Dynamics requires no further software development (It is already a finished product), keeping it would have minimal impact on the Adobe developer team except for recompiling it for each Premiere Pro update. Therefore, it makes no sense to obsolete Dynamics and make life hell for those of us who heavily rely on it.
Why is Dynamics so important? It was very easy to use, and extremely powerful with compression, limiter, gate, and other features in a single dialog. The controls are very interactive and adjustable on the fly. The compressor level meter (bar) lets me quickly see how much audio compression is used when listening to various sections of the video.
In contrast, the new Dynamics Processing audio effect is missing most of the features of the Dynamics effect. For example, Dynamics Processing lacks the compressor level meter (bar) so interactive compression adjustments are impossible since there is no visible feedback like you had with the obsolete Dynamics effect. It is like driving blind.
End users often ask me why my audio is so consistently good. The Dynamics effect is why.
The Neve 33609 Stereo Compressor is one of the world’s finest audio compressors. Not only does the Dynamics effect have the features of the Neve 33609, but the Dynamics effect even has more features in one single interface. No wonder everyone uses it all the time. Adobe is making a really awful mistake putting it on the obsolete list. Adobe should make Dynamics a full time feature of Premiere Pro and brag about how it compares to the best hardware compressor available.
As one expert said, “I work with a team of freelance editors that have limited experience on audio compression/limiting etc… and Dynamics saves my workload for over modulated audio that most editors have no clue on how to mix.”
