How to pour something?
If you look at my test ghost-in-jar post below, i now need a shot where i pick the jar up and pour the ghost into a cooking pot.
Ive been messing all day with masks, but cannot for the life of me work out a way to make this look good.
Can anyone suggest any technique to me?

That’s something I would shoot with actual liquid and enhance. Motion is not really a fluid simulator- those exist but it’s not Motion.

Looking at your vimeo clips, I don’t see how you can do a pour.

hmmm ok that makes a lot of sense.
So I should shoot it, then duplicate the layer, and animate a mask around the liquid, then enhance the liquid like give it a glow or something?

Someone here may correct me, but I believe the best way to shoot this, is going to be using a black background. Your project seems very similar to shooting fire or snow flakes that you want to key out the background and composite over over video, and I’ve been told shooting those over a black background is best. Hope this helps!
