i had a project that i passed of to someone to work on via lacie drive, he is on a pc im on a mac , he had no problems reconnecting all the files used in the project. he has now passed the project back to me via the same drive, an i can connect everything except psd. documents that were imported as comps because i can not figure out how to access the psd.layers on the hard drive i can find the psd. itself but how can i access the layers???? these are files that i created before giving him the project any help would be greatly appreciated as i am going crazy
    thanks

btw we are simply using “collect files” saving to hard drive and passing the drive off

ps. shortly after giving him the lacie my computer crashed and i lost the orignal psd. docs

    Hi there,

the missing PSD layer-files should show up with Italic text names in your Project-Window.
Just double-click on one, and you get a fileselector prompting you to locate the file.

Now first locate the PSD file, and in the next dialog you get choose the correct Layer from the pop-up. AE should figure out what other layers it’s missing are in that file too, and reconnects them, so you only have to do this once for every psd-file, not for every layer.
