How to Pan still photo without using after effects in FCP 4.5

Yes. Drop the picture into the timeline, then load it into the view and click on the MOTION tab. You can adjust the SCALE and the CENTER in here, and using Keyframes, move the picture. Time to open the manual and read up on keyframing.

If you have to do a lot of these, check out PanZoomPro at lyric.com. Many times faster than the motion tab, plus no keyframes for transitions to push around.

While you can do pans and zooms within FCP some of them will end up looking better if done in After Effects. Should you run across tilts or zooms that just won’t render nicely then you can do those seperately in AE.

Thanks for all of the advice. I downloaded the demo for PanZoomPro. I will take a look at it and see how I like it.
