  • How to not render black?

Maybe I missed this in the manual… is there a way to not render all the black in a timeline? I have a 20 minute timeline with only a few shots in it (just the updated shots from the previous version of this cut). When I render it in source mode it wants to render all the black sections of the timeline. That seems somewhat useless. I just want it to render the actual shots. I know I can set in and out points and render them one by one, but isn’t there a way to just tell the resolve to render selected shots, or just to not render those blank-black shots?

    thanks,
    Peter

Have you considered getting an edl of a timeline containing just the clips you are looking to render respaced so there are no gaps inbetween?

I did consider that. I wanted the shots in show order and TC so I can easily find the shots from the full session and copy the grades over quickly. I guess it’s just a feature request then. Thanks.
