since i can’t afford a separate and independent hard drive capture device, sometimes during indoor capture i connect my sony hdr-hc7 to my desktop computer and capture directly to its hard drive. however, during this capture, the cam’s audio capture is output through the computer’s speakers, then picked up by the cam again and – you guessed it – an ever-increasing, ever louder feedback occurs. i can solve this by completely turning off the computer’s speakers, but, is there a software way to mute vegas’ audio output during live video capture to a computer?

    thanks for any help

I don’t believe so, but turning down your speakers sounds pretty easy.
