  • How to move puppet mesh (starch tool) because precomp gets distorted

Posted by Sabrina Hochmuth on March 4, 2016 at 11:02 am

I’m rigging a character using puppet pin tool an Duik, I have each body part (shape layer) in a precomp.

Since sometimes I need to scale the character I turn on the “vector sun”, but the precomp gets distorted, because in this moment the mesh gets shifted a bit to the right.

How can I fix this and put the mesh in place again?
I can extend the mesh, but can’t find a way to grab it a move it.
It works only with no vector turned on, but I want the keep the vector.

Puppet tool works on raster data not vector, therefore the issue you run into when you try to switch on the continuously rasterize switch. The workaround is to have each character animated as large as possible.
