How to move Project into sub-folder within Final Cut Projects?
Within “Final Cut Projects,” I create a sub-folder for the projects related to a single show. I then create those new projects within the show’s sub-folder. With several dozen individual projects on each external drive, this two-level folder hierarchy helps me keep things organized.
Sometimes, though, I forgot to select the show’s sub-folder before I created a new project, so FCPX created that project right in the “Final Cut Projects” folder. I’d like to move the project into the appropriate sub-folder, but can’t find a way to do that. (File > Move Project only lets me move it to the “Final Cut Projects” folder on a different drive, not to a sub-folder.)
Can I simply move the project folder to the appropriate sub-folder in Finder? Or will doing so cause FCPX to “lose” the project?
What’s the best way to move a project into a sub-folder on the same external drive?
