    Hello

could anyone give me suggestions for how to start modelling a poppadom? In particular the fractal style pattern on the surface.

I also would like to make some crushed aluminium foil and I imagine that these two projects would use similar techniques – any help would be much appreciated

    (I am using R17)

I believe you could start with a cylindar shape flattened, make editable, add a shadder effector and displace the vertices to a noise map to create a slight wave in the cyclindar’s shape.

After you get the base shape of the poppadom you can texture it by applying a noise displacement (https://www.behance.net/gallery/23596889/Cinema-4D-Noise-Palette-2015) view this link for a better understanding of what each noise creates to create the bumps on the poppadom.
