    Hi

Does anyone have any tips on how to mimic a camera move using Media Composer 5, such as a push-in, without it looking too stiff? I have an editor who is working with car running footage shot from a helicopter, and he basically wants to make it seem like he cut a piece out of a longer push-in being done on the car. Apparently, there was a way to do this fairly easily in previous versions of Avid, but he can’t figure it out on the new version. All he can get it to do a stiff-looking zoom.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Daniel,

For me, Avid FX (otherwise known as Boris RED) always works for me. That’s still where I do my pan and scan on high-rez photos, and blowing up video (conservatively, mind you) doesn’t look too bad either. I hope you don’t need to go beyond 125-130% to get the move you’re looking for.
