Lets say I select some clips and I want to know what is the length of all the selected clips. How do I do that?

Double click the clip, and it will be highlighted. On the lower right, you’ll see the length of the clip listed.

If you have “recognizable” clip names, then you can:

    1. View, Edit Details (alt-6)
    2. Show Events (droplist)
    3. Select All (top, left cell [above 1, left of Track])
    4. Copy
    5. Open Excel, Paste
    6. Filter out any rows you need/don’t need using the Active Take Name column to identify your Vegas timeline events
    7. Use Excel’s Summation tool on the Length column to add the times

If you were looking in the help file, all things on the timeline are events – not clips.
