how to match title white with video white?
How do I match the “video white” of person shot on a white studio stage (like Mac and PC commercials) and a “titles white?”
I need the title white to cover the black area created when I repositioned (resized) video.
Before you answer, understand that the whites match in Premiere. I then output to movie as AVI file. Whites still match. Then I burn AVI to disc and play back on computer– the whites dont match and see a gray area where my titles were in Premiere.
Best I can figure is that my whites don’t match. Color picker didnt change my titles white.
How do I get the whites to match?

It sounds like your video monitors need adjustment. If you see a difference later in the chain, then a difference existed the entire time. The monitors are probably set far too bright, obscuring the nuances that separate the various bright shades in your images.
I would take some time to calibrate your video monitors…then the simple eyedropper tool in the Title designer should do the job of getting a match.

Good question about the monitors. I’m have two computers that share the same monitor. I have tried lowering white and contrast on the monitor to VERY low points and never see the gray appear when it wasn’t already there. Is there another way to check monitor besides resetting and individual changes?
Also, the title color picker didnt make a difference.
The display settings for both computers use same default colors etc.
An AVI that plays w gray from the dataDVD also plays with gray in it after being copied to desktop. BUT when that same copied file is imported into a consumer editing software I dont see the gray area.
**This issue is very much related to the color settings within a software– premiere, videostudio, Windows media player, and real player. The AVI when played back in any video editing software looks perfect! But when AVI files are played back in media players I see GRAY!!
Again, using one monitor for two computers and a variety of video software gives me gray matter only when using certain software– not computer or monitor.
Ultimately, the AVI files made in Premiere have two different whites otherwise no other video device on the same computer would ever show me the gray.
How does one match the video white to the title in Premiere 1.5?

NerissaPS– the video was shot with aperature open more than necessary so video white is hot, but not hot enough to blur edges of subject.
